"HEAR YE HEAR YE!"
“Peoples of the Realm!
The King of Gaduva seeks brave heroes to join his royal guard!
Make a perilous journey, earn riches and treasure in the king’s name!
Win his favor and that spot could be yours!”
Knights of Gaduva is a 2 vs 2 board game meant for exactly 4 players
1. The Goal of the Game
Players are seeking to progress through the board, collect the treasure at the end, and then progress back to the starting castle.
The treasures are locked, they require a special “Key” Equipment Card in order to collect it.
Once both players on one team have collected the treasure and made it back to the starting castle, that team has won the game.
2. Set up
Players will split into 2 teams, with team mates each sitting across from each other.
All players will take a player piece, and set it in the middle castle, between two flags of their team color.
The 20 Equipment cards should be shuffled and then dealt so that each player has 5 cards in hand.
All players will roll the dice, with whoever rolls highest going first then turns continuing clockwise.
(Should players tie for highest roll, the tying players will each roll again, following the same rules)
3. Playing the Game
On a players turn, the active player does two things
Firstly, the active player rolls the dice, and moves themselves that many spaces forward. (Count the movement between spaces! Moving from your current to the next counts as 1.)
-If the player has the “Wagon” Equipment Card in their hand, that player must show the card to all other players, then return it to their hand, and move an extra 2 spaces. This may be done once a turn.
-If at any point of their movement a player would be blocked from moving (such as not having a key at the treasure space) a player only moves as many spaces as they’re able.
Secondly, at the end of their turn, the active player will choose an equipment card from one other players hand blindly and trade it for a card of their own.
-If the player receives a new Key Card from this trade, they may not use it until their next turn.
-If a player has a valid Key Card, and reaches their treasure space, they may use the Key Card either before or after their movement. (but not during!)
-When a player uses the Key Card they must discard the used Key Card into the Discard Pile.
-Once a player uses the Key Card, the player collects the treasure and then begins to progress back through the board to the starting castle.
-If a player makes it back to the starting castle, they no longer move, but they continue to trade cards on their turn as normal.
-Once both players on a team make it back to the starting castle with their treasures, that team wins the game.
